DELPHINE MOUNKORO

Originaire de la région de Ségou (Mali), Delphine Mounkoro commence la musique très jeune dans son village. Après avoir étudié à Bamako au Centre National des Arts, elle a fait partie du chœur de Cheick Tidiane Seck avec lequel elle est régulièrement partie en tournée.

Forte de ces expériences et de sa renommée grandissante, elle décide d'entamer sa carrière solo. L’année 2019 voit la sortie de son album “Cocody”, où elle s’est distinguée par un talent particulièrement impressionnant - entre grande maîtrise scénique, voix exceptionnelle et orchestration mélodieuse.

Delphine Mounkoro chante dans un style tradi-moderne bwa, où les instruments contemporains côtoient joyeusement les instruments du terroir, et notamment le balafon, qui prend une place prépondérante dans son œuvre. Celle qu’on surnomme « la Diva du Bwatun » fait l’unanimité !

Delphine Mounkoro was born in the region of Segou (Mali) and started playing music at a very young age in her village. After studying in Bamako at the Centre National des Arts, she was part of Cheick Tidiane Seck's choir with whom she regularly went on tour.

Strengthened by these experiences and her growing reputation, she decided to start her solo career. The year 2019 saw the release of her album "Cocody", where she distinguished herself by a particularly impressive talent - between great stage control, exceptional voice and melodious orchestration.

Delphine Mounkoro sings in a traditional-modern Bwa style, where contemporary instruments joyfully rub shoulders with instruments of the land, and in particular the balafon, which takes a predominant place in her work. The one who is nicknamed "the Diva of Bwatun" is unanimously appreciated!
